Biography

Madeline Walsh focuses her practice on insurance coverage and litigation, representing policyholders in complex coverage disputes and advising clients on insurance-related risk management and insurance recovery matters.

Prior to joining SDV Fenchurch, Madeline advised insurers on complex coverage disputes and represented both insurers and insureds in a variety of litigation matters. This experience provides her with unique insight into claim evaluation, coverage analysis, risk assessment, and insurer decision-making, which she now leverages to advocate effectively for policyholders. She also advises clients on the adequacy and structure of their insurance programs, helping organizations align coverage with evolving business risks and exposures.

Madeline earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts School of Law. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from UMass Dartmouth, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and a Bachelor of Science in Management, summa cum laude, from UMass Boston.

Madeline lives in Massachusetts with her husband and rescue dog. Outside of her practice, she enjoys cooking, spending time at the beach, and volunteering with local and Caribbean-based animal rescue organizations.

Experience

Madeline represents policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes and advises businesses, insurance brokers, and risk management professionals on insurance-related risk management, coverage strategy, and insurance recovery matters. Her experience includes analyzing and interpreting insurance policies, evaluating coverage positions, and developing strategies to protect clients’ interests and mitigate risk across a variety of commercial insurance lines. She also represents policyholders in matters involving insurer bad faith and unfair claims handling practices, including claims arising under Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 93A and 176D.

Madeline works closely with policyholders to address complex insurance challenges, protect their interests, and maximize available coverage. Drawing on her prior experience representing insurers in coverage disputes, she provides valuable insight into claim evaluation, coverage analysis, and insurer decision-making, enabling her to effectively advocate for her clients.
