Biography

Kerianne Kane Luckett is the Managing Partner of the firm’s Connecticut office and a skilled litigator with a national practice focused on representing policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes. She concentrates her practice on the construction industry and routinely handles matters involving commercial general liability, builder’s risk, environmental, and professional liability insurance. Kerianne also has significant experience with defective construction and bodily injury claims.

Kerianne brings a strong litigation background spanning all phases of state and federal practice. Prior to joining the firm, she defended claims under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act and the Federal Railroad Safety Act, as well as personal injury and property damage matters on behalf of insureds. She has also successfully litigated complex disputes involving business litigation, securities fraud, and intellectual property infringement.

In addition to her litigation work, Kerianne advises clients on insurance coverage issues and provides comprehensive policy analysis across a wide range of insurance products. She works closely with clients to strengthen contractual risk transfer provisions and optimize insurance coverage during contract drafting, negotiation, and policy placement and renewal.

Kerianne is actively involved in industry organizations and a speaker on insurance and risk transfer issues, including presentations on “Top 5 Risk Transfer Issues: In-Depth Discussion, Challenges and Solutions” and “Posturing for Plaintiffs: Drafting Demands and Complaints to Trigger Coverage.”

Experience

Kerianne represents policyholders in complex insurance disputes across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on construction-related claims and high-exposure losses. She has successfully secured coverage and favorable outcomes for clients in matters involving defective construction, bodily injury, environmental claims, and large-scale property damage.

Her experience includes obtaining coverage for insureds in high-exposure toxic tort litigation, resolving builder’s risk disputes involving alleged faulty workmanship on large residential projects, and securing defenses for contractors facing claims arising from subcontractor work. She has also successfully challenged insurer denials, including obtaining dismissals of declaratory judgment actions and securing additional insured coverage under New York Labor Law claims.

Kerianne’s practical and strategic approach enables her to guide clients through complex coverage disputes while proactively managing risk and strengthening their insurance programs.
