Andrea P. Catania

Andrea “Andie” Catania is an insurance coverage attorney based in the firm’s Connecticut office, where she dedicates her legal practice to advocating for commercial insurance policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes and risk transfer matters.

Andie joined SDV Fenchurch as an Associate after completing two years in the firm’s Summer Associate Program and working as a Law Clerk at the firm during her last two years of law school. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a certificate in Insurance Law and Regulation, providing her with a strong foundation in the legal and regulatory framework of the insurance industry. Drawing on this background, she is particularly passionate about translating complex insurance issues into clear, understandable concepts and developing actionable strategies that help clients navigate coverage challenges with confidence.

Andie represents commercial policyholders in insurance coverage disputes across a diverse range of industries, including construction, real estate, hospitality, professional services, and other business sectors. Her practice focuses on obtaining coverage under primary and excess insurance policies and advising risk managers, insurance brokers, and other commercial clients on contractual risk transfer strategies. She partners with clients through every stage of an insurance coverage matter, providing guidance on insurance and indemnity provisions during contract negotiations and navigating claim tender, coverage disputes, litigation, and resolution.
