Biography

Alex Hopkins joined the firm as Counsel, bringing more than two decades of experience as a Claims Executive and Legal Counsel in the insurance and reinsurance industry. He has a proven track record managing complex litigation, advising domestic and international (re)insurers, and leading high-performing claims teams across a broad range of exposures, including directors and officers liability, professional liability (E&O), employment practices liability, fiduciary liability, cyber, transactional, healthcare, and mass tort/environmental matters.

Alex also holds multiple advanced insurance designations, including CPCU, ARM, ARe, ACRM, RPLU+, CPLP, and ExecPLP.

Experience

Before joining the firm, Alex held leadership roles at Travelers – Bond & Specialty Insurance, most recently serving as AVP & Counsel for International Management Liability Claims. He also practiced law at Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP (now Troutman Pepper Locke LLP), focusing on complex commercial litigation, reinsurance disputes, and coverage litigation, and served as Executive Counsel at The Hartford.
