Biography
Thomas P. Rechtin is an insurance coverage attorney dedicated to advocating on behalf of policyholders in disputes against insurance companies. In addition, Thomas assists clients engaged in the construction business in evaluating their contracts and liability policies to ensure effective and efficient risk transfer to the contractors actually performing the work, protecting clients from the repercussions of future claims in the event of an accident.
Thomas discovered his passion for insurance coverage law after his career as an English professor, drawing a connection between his passion for reading and writing with the intricacies of insurance coverage law and policy interpretation. A true scholar, Thomas earned his Master’s degree in Fine Arts and a PhD in English before attending law school.
Experience
Prior to focusing his practice solely on liability policyholder representation, Thomas worked in general civil litigation, including contract disputes, estate planning, and family law. He then shifted his attention to first-party insurance litigation, where he successfully secured coverage for clients through both the claims process and litigation involving homeowners, automobile, life insurance, property, and other policies.
