Sinan Cem Ünlü

After completing his legal education in İzmir, Sinan Cem Ünlü earned his LL.M. with a thesis focus on international trade and maritime law at University of Nottingham, before beginning his legal practice in İstanbul with a primary focus on commercial law.

Over the years, he has built a strong reputation in debt restructuring, insolvency, concordat proceedings, and corporate advisory services, representing both emerging and established businesses across various industries. Alongside his commercial practice, he has developed extensive experience in insurance law, policy disputes, risk coverage structures, and complex dispute resolution matters.

Combining strategic legal insight with a commercially driven perspective, Sinan Cem Ünlü advises clients on navigating legal risks, protecting business continuity, and managing high-value disputes in an increasingly complex business environment.

Handling compensation claims against insurance companies under liability insurance policies, conducting mediation proceedings, managing litigation and claims settlement processes through to completion, and conducting settlement negotiations.

Advising companies on insurance-related matters before and after the occurrence of a loss, ensuring that all necessary notifications to insurers and brokers are made accurately and in a timely manner, and managing communications to facilitate the efficient and proper handling of the process.
Providing legal opinions on post-shipment credit insurance matters and managing the related mediation and litigation proceedings.

Most recently, successfully steering a EUR 350,000 insurance dispute through the litigation process, resulting in favourable judgments before both the court of first instance and the appellate court, while continuing to oversee and manage the proceedings.”
