Biography
A resident of the firm’s California office, Rebecca spent over five years representing policyholders involved in complex insurance coverage disputes. She plays a critical role in securing insurance coverage for policyholders who are facing a broad array of losses, including catastrophic construction events, environmental accidents, construction defects, homeowner losses, and broker professional negligence.
Since 2025, Rebecca’s has played a key role in the firm’s rapidly expanding Subcontractor Insurance Review Program (SIRP), ensuring clients are protected with adequate insurance and contractual indemnifications. She regularly performs policy and contract reviews, working closely with clients to ensure proper risk transfer and compliance with local, state, and federal insurance requirements. Her expertise with a wide variety of insurance coverage matters, especially in the construction industry, allows her to advise her clients and work with their contractors to successfully resolve coverage and contractual disputes.
Rebecca comes to SDV Fenchurch following a career in the military, having spent nearly a decade in the U.S. Marine Corps prior to law school, where she rose to the rank of Major. Rebecca was also the proud recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for meritorious service from 2011 through 2016.
While in law school, Rebecca was the Moot Court Honors Board CEO and served as Associate Editor of the Law Review and the International Law Journal. She was also a judicial extern for the Honorable Justice Judith Haller of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District.
Experience
Between 2020 and 2024, Rebecca served as the lead associate defending an insurance broker from professional negligence allegations, which culminated in a two-week trial in the Superior Court of Los Angeles. Rebecca spent thousands of hours conducting discovery, deposing witnesses, drafting pleadings, arguing pre-trial motions, and cross-examining four witnesses. She also drafted and successfully argued a post-verdict motion to strike/tax costs, saving our client over $420,000.
Between 2023 and 2024, Rebecca drafted the winning arguments for Sunkist Growers, Inc’s motion for summary judgment, securing full insurance coverage worth over $3.5 million for a maritime cargo loss.
Since 2025, Rebecca has managed the insurance review process for over 100 construction projects, including reviewing thousands of subcontractors’ insurance policies and contracts.
