Biography

Jake Wade is an Associate in SDV Fenchurch ‘s California office, where he represents policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes. His practice focuses on helping commercial policyholders obtain the insurance benefits to which they are entitled under a wide range of insurance policies. Jake regularly represents contractors, commercial property owners, and other businesses in insurance coverage matters involving commercial property and liability claims.

Jake earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as a member of the San Diego Law Review and received the Dean’s Honor Scholarship. Before pursuing a legal career, he earned a Master’s degree in Education and taught high school English.

Outside of the office, Jake lives in Mission Viejo, California, with his wife and children and enjoys cooking, reading, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.

Experience

Jake represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes involving commercial property losses, construction projects, liability claims, and other complex commercial insurance matters. His practice includes all stages of insurance recovery, from pre-litigation coverage analysis and strategic counseling through litigation in state and federal courts.

His experience includes analyzing and litigating insurance coverage issues arising under commercial general liability, builders’ risk, and commercial property insurance policies. He also advises clients on additional insured coverage, contractual indemnity, insurance requirements, and other risk transfer issues. Jake regularly drafts coverage analyses, pleadings, and dispositive motions, and works closely with clients to develop strategies that maximize available insurance coverage and support successful recovery.
