Senior Associate

Biography

Jasjeet Sahani is an Associate based in the firm’s Connecticut office. She represents a broad range of policyholders, from individuals to multinational corporations, in complex insurance coverage disputes. In addition to her disputes practice, Jasjeet is a member of SDV Fenchurch’s Risk Transfer practice group, where she conducts policy reviews to help clients secure appropriate insurance coverage and remain compliant with local, state, and federal insurance requirements.

Jasjeet joined SDV Fenchurch after completing the firm’s Summer Associate program. During law school, she received CALI Excellence Awards in American Indian Law, Mental Health Law, and Professional Insurance Liability, and served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal.

Fluent in four languages, including Hindi and Punjabi, Jasjeet brings a diverse perspective to her practice. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, painting, and attending concerts, and currently resides in Litchfield County, Connecticut.

Experience

Before joining SDV Fenchurch, Jasjeet gained valuable legal experience through internships with the Employment Rights Department of the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, a mid-size CT-based law firm, and Eversource’s legal department. She also served as a Student Mediator in the University of Connecticut School of Law Mediation Clinic, where she helped plan and conduct mediations involving complex employment discrimination disputes before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO). These experiences provided her with a strong foundation in advocacy, negotiation, and regulatory matters, which she now applies to advising policyholders on complex insurance coverage disputes and assisting clients with risk transfer and insurance policy reviews.

When Jasjeet is not representing policyholders, she volunteers her time with the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights, providing pro bono legal services to Tribal nations and Tribal members.
