Chris has over 40 years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance disputes and is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and respected coverage lawyers in the Market being recognized in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and in Chambers & Partners. He is also acknowledged as a leading products Liability lawyer.
Chris has acted across all major classes of insurance and reinsurance with particular expertise in Construction (including DSU, where he is a contributor to a leading textbook), Property and Business Interruption, Energy, and product Liability.
He regularly speaks at events on topical issues in insurance and reinsurance.
Experience
Chris’s track record spans many high-profile London Market losses over the past four decades from Piper Alpha through to the FCA’s Covid 19 Business Interruption Test case and includes 4 cases in the Supreme Court and over 20 appearances in the Court of Appeal.
His practice is truly global and over the years he has handled disputes in over 40 jurisdictions on 6 continents running from hydro-electric projects in India, the Philippines, Perú and Georgia through construction losses at the Panama Canal and the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai to fires and explosions at refineries and chemical plants all over the World.
