Biography

Alex O’Neill dedicates her practice exclusively to representing policyholders in complex insurance disputes, helping businesses navigate sophisticated coverage issues and maximize available insurance recovery. She has been recognized by Chambers USA as a Band 1 attorney for Insurance in Connecticut for three consecutive years, from 2024 through 2026, reflecting her work on high-stakes insurance matters and her strategic guidance to clients facing complex coverage challenges.

In addition to her legal practice, Alex serves as the firm’s Chief Legal & Risk Officer, applying her experience in insurance, risk management, and legal strategy to support firmwide initiatives. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Alex is committed to advancing the interests of policyholders through thought leadership, education, and industry engagement. She regularly publishes and speaks on risk management and insurance coverage issues affecting the construction industry at conferences nationwide.

Experience

Alex O’Neill advises and represents policyholders in complex insurance coverage matters across a wide range of industries, including construction, real estate, healthcare, consumer products, and transportation. She works with businesses to develop risk management strategies, pursue insurance recovery, draft contractual risk transfer provisions, and resolve insurance disputes through negotiation, mediation, litigation, and appeal.

Alex provides strategic counseling throughout the insurance lifecycle, including evaluating insurance programs, preparing coverage opinions, and assisting clients with claim presentation and recovery efforts. Her experience includes coverage issues involving commercial general liability, builders’ risk, commercial property, cyber liability, professional liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices liability, commercial auto, motor carrier liability, excess, and umbrella policies.
