Before establishing his own specialist insurance practice, Christoffer worked as a lawyer with AIG, as a Claims Manager with If Insurance – one of the largest insurers in the Nordic region – and as a Claims Manager with Willis Towers Watson. This experience gives him a distinctive perspective when advising policyholders in disputes with insurers.
He has extensive litigation experience and a strong understanding of the court process. At the same time, he takes a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach, drawing on his industry experience, network and commercial insight to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.
Experience
Christoffer has extensive litigation experience in insurance-related disputes, including cases concerning professional indemnity, Directors’ & Officers’ (D&O) liability, Construction All Risks (CAR) insurance and property insurance. He has acted in some of Norway’s largest D&O liability matters and has advised clients in complex insurance disputes involving values in the billions of Norwegian kroner.
Christoffer is currently acting in a major CAR insurance dispute of significant importance to both insurers and policyholders. The case concerns the interpretation and application of policy safety requirements and raises important questions regarding the circumstances in which an insurer may reduce or deny coverage following an alleged breach of such requirements.
